2026 Annual Bus Trip:
Plan to spend the day with fellow hosta lovers shopping and touring five fabulous private gardens in Rockford and surrounding areas on Saturday, June 20, 2026. All five gardens are prospective gardens for the 2027 Midwest Hosta Society Convention. We will also have the opportunity to shop at Hugo's Hosta Haven, operated by MIke and Pam Carr, who are NIHS members and newsletter advertisers. They have a huge display garden showing off mature specimens of the hostas they sell at very modest prices.
We are limited to 52 participants, so plan to sign up early to ensure a place on the bus. The cost of the tour is $52 per individual for members, and the fee is $62 for any non-member guests. As we did last year, registration and payment will be made using a link on the NIHS website. An email blast will be sent to members March 30, 2026 to announce the opening of registration which will take place on Friday, April 3 promptly at 8:00 a.m..
We will travel by Bestway Motor Coach, the same service we have used the previous years. No lunch stop is planned so please plan to bring a lunch to eat on the bus. NIHS will provide limited on board refreshments as well. We will make the trip regardless of the weather so bring rain gear if the weather looks unfavorable.
